Professor Claudius Omoleye Daramola was born on 20th of January 1949. He hails from Ode Aye in Okitipupa Local government area of Ondo State. He attended Divisional Teachers Training College, Okitipupa from 1967-1969. He obtained a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from University of Sokoto .

The Permanent Secretary

            Mr. William Alo, was born on 15th April, 1965 at Ekwetekwe-Umuezeoka in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.  He had his Primary Education at Community Primary School, Ekwetekwe, from 1970 – 1976, obtained FSLC IN 1976. HE attended    St. Aidan’s Secondary School, Umuezeoka and obtained the West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1982. He proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and graduated with a BA (Hons) Government/Education in 1989.  He later obtained PGDE in Public Relations from the same University in 1994, and a Masters Degree in Political Science from Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki in 2015.  He is currently a Ph.D student at the same University.

Mr. Alo commenced his career with the Enugu State Government as Administrative Officer, before the creation of Ebonyi State out of Enugu State.  He rose to the position of Chief Administrative Officer and was later appointed Transition Committee Chairman, Ezza West Local Government Area of Ebonyi State in 2002.  He was subsequently appointed Permanent Secretary in Ebonyi State in 2007, and served in four different Ministries in the State namely, Office of the Head of Service, Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Mineral Development, Ministry of Lands, Survey and Housing, Ministry of Education.

Mr. Alo transferred his service to the Federal Civil Service as Director of Administration in 2013, and was deployed as Director, Reform Coordination and Service Improvement in the Ministry of Interior.  By providence of the Almighty God and the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he was appointed a Federal Permanent Secretary and posted to the Economic Affairs Office of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Tuesday, 12th November, 2015.  He was deployed as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs on 6th August, 2016. 

Mr. William Alo is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Administration.  He is married with children.

The Ministry has a 13-Department (5 Technical and 8 Service) and a 5-Unit structure with relevant heads. The activities of the Ministry are coordinated by the Permanent Secretary and supervised by the Honourable Minister and the Honourable Minister of State.
