In line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s Economic Diversification and Investment Programme, a delegation of investors and New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD) Continental would be visiting Nigeria in November, 2017.
For a successful hosting of the investors, the Federal Government, on Monday inaugurated an eight-man organising committee in Abuja.
Inaugurating the Committee, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani charged them to work in line with the purpose of the Investment Forum which is anchored on Economic Diversification and Job Creation.
It would be recalled that Infrastructure Africa Business Forum held in Johannesburg, South Africa in August, 2017 was attended by representatives of Nigeria led by the Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani and also the National Coordinator/Chief Executive of NEPAD Nigeria, Princess Gloria Akobundu and other key government functionaries.
One of the major outcomes of Nigeria’s participation at the Forum was the sigining of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Nigeria and group of Investors from within and outside Africa who declared interest to invest in the various sectors of the Nigerian economy in a bid to assist the country actualise most of the aspirations expressed in the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) 2017-2020 and to place Nigeria on the path of sustainable growth and development.
The Minister stated that Nigeria’s partnership with NEPAD was already yielding positive results especially in the Niger Delta region, where investors have started indicating interest to invest in the moribund industries in the region for economic revival.
The Committee is expected to submit its report within one week.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Charles Onuoha said “We would leave no stone unturned to achieve the purpose of the partnership for the development of our people, especially in the Niger Delta region.”
