Akpabio condoles with the family of the Pioneer Minister of MNDA

The Honourable Minister, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio has extolled the virtues of pioneer Minister of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Sir Ufot Ekaette who passed on recently.

Senator Akpabio described the Late Ufot Ekaette as a Consummate Public Servant who served humanity with sincerity of Purpose and groomed the crop of Public Servants of today for over 40 years.

The Minister said this when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the pioneer Minister on 26th September, 2019 in Abuja.

According to the Minister, late Ekaette was a diligent man with proven integrity who lived a life of service to God and humanity. Adding that his life should be a lesson to all of us who are still serving.

He noted that the late former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) has made a lot of impact in the life of so many and advised the living to take solace in the fact that the quintessential bureaucrat mentored many people in the Public Service. This according to Akpabio is a legacy which money cannot buy.

“He gave his All to Nigeria, we pray that the lectures and values he instilled in us will bring positive changes in our service delivery” he said.

In her remarks, the wife of the late Pioneer Minister of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Eme Ekaette said her late husband always tried his best at any field he found himself.

She disclosed that the late Obong Ekaette had documented his memoir which chronicled his experiences in Public Service but could not present the book to the public due to his failing health in the last two years and appealed to the Federal Government to consider organizing a colloquium where the book would be launched. This according to the widow will motivate the younger generation to serve without blemish.

She described Senator Akapbio, as a bulldozer and assured Nigerians that he will take the Niger Delta region to the next level that the South- South will be proud of because he is always eager to get results as soon as possible.
